OK, so I saw someone post about the cool wooden bowls that her father made. Well I have to do the same. Except it's my Father-In-Law. He has taken up woodworking and sculpting and we are the beneficiaries of his work. It has been something wonderful for him to do and for us to receive. He is always coming up with new ways to amaze us. He is so dang talented. I really wish I could find the pictures of the other things he has done. Right now he is working on a little keepsake box for my nephew. The older two boys got boxes and he had carved their names on the top of the box. So wonderful. This time he painted his favorite things on the top. So stinkin' adorable. I can't wait to hear about his reaction.
Here is what I have received from him. I don't have a picture of the pepper mill that he made for my husband but will probably take one sometime. It's the best one we've had too.
He made me some little bowls that I think are so cute. He also made this awesome vase. He painted part of it with a dark purple and then overlayed it with copper. (At least I think it's copper.)
I put a couple pictures on here because the pattern is different all around.
Here is the top. Lurve it!!!
This is a wall sculpture he made. It hangs in their living room. He made one similar for my SIL because she loved it so much. What are daddy's for right?
This is one of the first things he made for us. I have been wanting a chest to put all of Caelan's toys in and later it could be her Hope chest (or whatever). I just love it. I also love the font he used on her name. We chose Gaelic names for our children and love the Gaelic font. It's been a wonderful thing to have.
Here is Caelan and Grandpa. They are so cute together. I totally think he should sell what he makes because I just love it so much, but I understand it's hard to sell something that you put so much time and effort into. I think he would do very well.
