Framed French Board Tutorial

As I said in the post before, this is a framed french board that I am making for my sister-in-law. I decided that it was so easy that I would do a little tutorial for you.

The supplies: (subject to what size you want)
A frame ( I found mine at a garage sale)
A foam board the size of the picture
Quilting Batting (doesn't have to be thick at all. I used a thin batting. Cut slightly smaller than the board)
Fabric (an inch or two bigger than the board)
ribbon of your choice
buttons
Glue gun
You put your fabric down wrong side face up.
You put the batting (half an inch smaller than the board) on top of the fabric.
Then you put the board on top, eyeballing the center.
Glue the corners to the back first. Make sure you pull the fabric tight.
After being glued all the way around.
Front view.
Glue the ribbon on the back of the board. I glued the ribbon to the corner first. I ended up using my sewing pins to keep the ribbon in place. Then I glued the ribbon to the back.

What the back looks like finished.
Stick the board into the frame and sew on some buttons and you are in business. I still have to get more buttons but then it's done. Two ways you can use the board. There are so many possibilitis
Enjoy!

Luggage Tags and A Key Fob

Here is the next installment of things I am making for my sister-in-law. They turned out pretty cute.
So what I have left to make is a bifold wallet.

I am also making a framed french board. I will be doing it out of different fabric though. Stay tuned for a picture of the materials I used. I found two gold frames at a garage sale for $5. They were 22"x28". I was so stoked because I was going to have to sand, prime, and spray paint the frame I already had. We are leaving on Friday to go to K's house and it needs to be done before then. I lucked out majorly. All I have to do now is just put everything together. Hopefully it will be done today.

How To Crochet a Flower

, I found this tutorial on how to make a crocheted flower. It was very easy to follow and I think it's so cute. Check it out if you have ever wanted to make one. Here is the link: Little Birdie Secrets

I will be putting up a picture of the one I make when I finish it.

Flannel Sets

Here are just a few of the flannet blankets and burp cloths that I am putting up on my Etsy site. They are $20 for a blanket and two burp cloths. The fabric is so cute. Right now they are one of a kind so snatch them while you can. I may be able to get the same fabric again so let me know if you want something else in the same fabric and I'll see what I can do.

The pictures of solo blankets come with the burp cloths too but they have just a white background instead of the color. They have the main pattern though.

All blankets are average 41"x34" and burp cloths 19 1/2"x 10 1/2"

Look out for more styles. I have about 15 more sets.

Amy Butler Buttercup Bag

My sister-in-law commissioned me to make her a couple things with this fabric. It is the Amy Butler Optic Blossom and Martini Gray. Such cute fabric.

Here is what I will be making with this fabric.
- Buttercup Bag (pattern from Made By Rae)
- two luggage tags
- key fob
- bifold wallet
I finished the Buttercup Bag and it turned out so good. I'm pretty happy with it.

This is my first yo yo flower. I put it on a pin so that she could take it off. I used a totally different fabric and a gray button.

I have two more purses done and one in the making. Look for them coming up on my Etsy site.

Etsy Shop

Just to let you all know I am putting a bunch of stuff on my Etsy store. I am getting rid of stamps, stickers, embossing powder, and much much more there. I will also be selling a lot of things that I am making.

Look for those smocks made from adult shirts. They are wonderful. I use the one I made for my daughter all the time. They will be one of a kind since I find the shirts in many different places and never more than one of the same.

Also look for the Buttercup bags. The design is from Made By Rae. I love them and I know you will too. They are the perfect little bag for anyone.

Crocheted Bangle Socks

This was my first attempt at making these bangle socks. I got some of these when I was pregnant with my daughter. I just thought they were so cute. Four years later I was ready to try making them. I love them. I can't wait for the winter just so that she can wear them.

I also made some less intricate and with purple beads. So cute.

Pillowcase Dress

I found this pillowcase at the Goodwill and was going to make an apron out of it and decided to make my daughter a dress instead. It turned out really cute but slightly big. Oh well, at least that's better than too small.

Here is a couple tutorials on how to make one. The first one is the one I used.

Smock Tutorial

If you haven't noticed already, I get all my ideas from other people. I just wanted to have a nice spot where you could find all the tutorials for what I have made. This one is a smock that I made from a women's shirt. It was the perfect size for my daughter.

I don't know why I didn't make this sooner. It was super easy and I have used it a billion times since making it yesterday. My daughter has used it as a paint smock, an apron, and a "sort of" bib. It has definitely come in handy. I will be making more of these. It's a great gift idea. Personally I think every kid should have two. One for wear and the other for when the first is in the laundry.

Buttercup Bag Tutorial

I found this purse tutorial from Made By Rae and absolutely love it. It is made from two fat quarters. In fact it takes less than that. I had a ton of leftovers. Click on her blog name to go to the tutorial. It was major easy to do.

Pleated Purse/Tutorial

So here is my next project, finished. I wanted to make this Pleated Purse by My Spare Time for a couple weeks now and I really love it. It's a nice size. I was going to use it as my diaper bag but now that it's done I find it's too small for it.

Love it! Click here to go to the tutorial for it.
