Mock Set Up

OK, here is a mock set up for the Craft Boutique I am doing on Saturday. My mom is doing it with me but we are sharing a table. She came down on Monday to put together our stuff and figure out how we were going to have everything set out.

I didn't realize how much stuff I had made. Yikes. I'm not even done yet.
Here is what we made:
My mom made Towel Hair Wraps
Hot pads/Trivets (love these)
and Loomed Infant Hats.
I made Burp Clothes (in the very blurry back), Diaper Clutchs (in front of the burp cloths), Diaper Scrunchie (works like a clutch), Buttercup Purse, Felt Needle Books, (my mom made some Craft Fair Aprons behind the purses.)
I have a bunch of cards for all occasions in the box.
Fabric Hair Flowers
Crocheted Hats, Infant and Toddler Bracelets, Book Thongs (string bookmarks)
Infant and Toddler Ties. I have more in Christmas fabrics that I am almost done with. They turned out so cute.
Just to get some kind of sympathy (yeah right!) I took pictures of the frozen plants at our house. I live in California and this is so cold. It got below freezing. That's quite a feat! Here are some pictures that I suffered to get;-) My toes almost froze off. I'm just saying.

Fabric Flower

I was just playing around with this fabric and figured that it might look cute if I kept on going with it. I was SO right. It turned out really good and fluffy. I don't even need to put something in the middle because it fluffs up around it. I find it kind of distracting if there is something in there.

Brown

My cute kids. I made a brown flower to go with my daughter's skirt.
I used all three fabrics to make this flower. It turned out really cute.

Flowers

The other day I had another get together with a bunch of ladies to show them how to make flowers for their hair. It was a fun night and got some people hooked. Check out Stacy's post that she made for her friend. She did a tutorial and did a good job.

Here is what I made the next day. Not much for me to do while I'm teaching but I had everything out so why not dabble?
I made this burlap ribbon flower for my hair. It's huge.
I wear a lot of bobby pins and so I made some more. I'm a little hooked.
I am really into lace and ruffles so I made some cute little flowers with both and I also did the burned satin which I love too.
Here is another lace flower that I turned into a broach and a fabric flower. It's bigger than the other ones I have made. I did it with 4 inch squares instead of 3 inch. I made some bobbies with tiny squares and it turned out so cute.

I am going to be teaching a bunch of women how to make different types of hair accessories and here is the list that I have compiled for their information. There are so many different flower tutorials out there and I'm sure I have missed a bunch but this is a good list to start with.

Fabric Flower Hair Clip

For church I had bought my daughter a cute little red and white dress. (I'll put it on later.) I was looking at the hair accessories she had and wanted something different than the flower I usually use. I decided to raid my fabric stash and found a fat quarter of this fabric. It was a perfect match so I cut a 3 inch strip, folded it in half and ironed it, did a gather stitch on the raw side, pulled it in so that it gathered and glued it into a circle. Then I added a decorative button.
On the other side I cut out a circle in fleece and cut two little slits in it. then I glued that to the bottom of the flower and added a lined alligator clip through the two slits.

It turned out so cute. What's funny is that when we got to church we found that one of Caelan's friends had the SAME dress on. Now the mom wants a clip like I made and I just might have to make one for her so that the girls can match.

Fabric Flowers

I was trying to find a cute tutorial on a fabric flower and found a bunch. I am going to share the ones I love.

These are from Sew Ritzy Titzy. I just love the way they look. I will definitely be trying these. Check out the tutorial on how to make them.
Next up is Maize in Montana with an easy and really cute flower tutorial.

Here at Pink Paper Peppermint there is this pretty easy flower tutorial as well. Also, she has this as part of her 31 Crafty Flowers in 31 Days. Check it out! So many great ideas.
Last but not least is this cute idea. You use a pattern and it's so simple. This is by Wise Craft and her tutorial and pattern download is awesome.

This is the pattern I will be using today. I am making a gift set for a baby shower and I was trying to find a fabric flower that I could embellish with and then could be later used as a flower hair clip. I will show pictures of it all later. Enjoy!
